Dean, I didn't know about your cats. I'm so sorry to hear that. I'm enjoying the new series, because it's as close as I can get to a cat without sneezing and wheezing! :)

Dana

Dean, I'm with you on CROCODILE ON THE SANDBANK. It works so well, on so many levels; I think if I'd read that particular book before I started writing, I might not have started.

Welcome!

Dean James

Thanks, Jeff. It has been rough. Dana, I know what you mean!

Marcia Talley

Welcome, Dean! I'm honored to be in the incoming class of Femmes/Freres with you! So sorry about the loss of your cats ... it's always hard. My cat, Tommy, passed away about a year ago. He was my muse, and was even a poster cat for an article in Mystery Scene Magazine written by Femme Elaine.

Donna Andrews

Welcome, Dean. I was sorry to hear about your cats, and rejoice that you have a new one now. Looking forward to enjoying your wit and erudition here.

Mary Saums

Dean! Great to have you with us. That's so sad to have lost both cats so close together. I hope the new kitty will help everything get back on keel quickly.

Barbara Michaels - Yes! I particularly love the audiobooks. No matter how many times it's said in all the books, I always laugh out loud at "Father of Curses." :)

Kathy Bergold

Dean, congratulations on your beautiful new baby, Piper. I know you'll grow to love each other with each day that passes. I love your books and I love Elizabeth Peters in all of her incarnations! LOL - Looking forward to the new Diesel book in January.

Charlaine Harris

What an interesting blog. I agree that Elizabeth Peters is a great teacher; I've read her books plenty of times. A perfect combination of humor, background knowledge, and excellent writing. We're so glad to have you with us, Dean.

Elaine Viets

Welcome, Dean. Thanks for the information. I'm on a cozy list and will be happy to spread the word that you are now one of us.

Hank Phillippi Ryan

YAy Dean! I've never read an Elizabeth Peters/Amelia Peabody (ducking now...)SO ridiculous! NOw, I will.

AH, your cats. I'm so sorry. The same thing happened with my Lola and Leon..but soon after I had a dream where Lola told me (yes, she told me) they were fine and not to worry. So--I'm passing the info it along..with much confidence.

Dean,
How great that you will be here on a regular basis! A few months ago I won one of your books when you were a guest at JRW. I must thank you for that! It gave me many hours of pleasure. I have now read all of the books in that series and look forward to more.

Hank, once you start reading all the adventures of Amelia Peabody you will be addicted to them. Start from the beginning and make sure your floors are padded so you won't get hurt when you fall on the floor laughing! (I think I need to go back to the beginning and read them all over again.)
