Kristopher

Such a sweet story Hank.

I don't care what anyone says, Santa still brings magic to the world.

Happy Holidays All!

Sandi

Oh, shoot... you made me cry. Not tear up, CRY. Sob. I wanted to throw my arms around your mom, but of course I couldn't. So I threw my arms around my mom.

Aww..thank you! Kristopher, you are so right!

And Sandi--perfect. Exactly the point. xoxo and thank you..

Catriona

What? No tots so no tree? Boy, that was some tough love there, Hank. What happened the next year? Sequel, please.

Karen in Ohio

Love this story, with every fiber of my being. You and your sister were Christmas angels, Hank.

As for the opening scene in the bookstore, I told my kids once that I lied to them about Santa: She's really a woman.

Lil Gluckstern

I love this story, and it makes me tear up! Yes, Karen, there is a Santa. And Happy Holidays to all.

Hank Phillippi Ryan

Well, Catriona, that's a good question. I think the next year...I was in college. And I think...well, I don't know!

Interesting!

Mario in DC

Thank you. I can't honestly say I *needed* the tears, mind you, but ... yeah. Well done. Great post. Thank you.--Mario R.

Hank Phillippi Ryan

Oh, Mario--how lovely of you. Thank you!

Hank Phillippi Ryan

Karen and Lil, you two make ME tear up! Thank you for being such dear friends.

And Karen, that is BRILLIANT!

Elaine Viets

What a lovely story, Hank. Happy holidays.

Hank Phillippi Ryan

Thanks, Elaine! xoo

Looks like Catriona was keeping Santa too busy! And I think the title is quite intriguing indeed. The actress looks quite familiar--what else has she been in?

My grandma tried the same thing. But my sister and I (we were grown, she was in her late 60's or maybe around 70) would go to the store and bring home a tree and there we were. One year, a coworker and I got one on our lunch hour. That was enough and when it got near Christmas she would let us know one was already up. She passed away in 2010 at age 98.
