Marcia Talley

Welcome, Sharon. I just LOVED Square Inch. Took me right back to growing up in the 50s. I remember those land deeds. My sister saved them out of granddad's cereal boxes.

Marcia--thank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed my novel and that it provided a trip back in time as well!

Jude Whelley

What a wonderful post Sharon, especially the part about the characters showing up and demanding their story be told!

Sharon Short

Thank you, Jude! I couldn't possibly ignore their demands. But in all seriousness, I've reached the point that the way I know I *must* tell a story is when it won't let go of my imagination! This was definitely the case for ALASKA.

Welcome to the Femmes, Sharon. I enjoyed MY ONE SQUARE INCH OF ALASKA. I've also discovered I like history more now that I don't have to memorize all those dates and can just absorb a more nuanced study of it.

Thank you Kris! It's my pleasure and honor to be here! I'm so glad you enjoyed ALASKA. Now that I've found ways to enjoy researching history, I have to be careful not to get so caught up in it that I forget to write the actual stories...
