I cannot stop laughing.

And that snow photo shows a sundial in our backyard which is four feet high. Yikes.

Summer is by far my favorite season. I love swimming. And while the ocean may be too cold to swim most of the time, I can jump in the pool. Plus, I get cold easily, so summer is great because it isn't as cold.

You've picked a good place to live, then, Mark, if you love summer. I hope you don't have to dodge wildfires this year.

Ann Mason.

Right now I have on flannel pajama pants, fuzzy socks, a tee shirt, a long sleeved shirt, and a fleece vest. What is this summer you speak of? Hank, you're just one state over. Am sending this cold weather to you. You're welcome.

Hank Phillippi Ryan

OH, no, Ann, it's now POURING here. And 60. Summer is a myth.

Mark, you've got it made!

I love summer, adore summer, my earliest childhood memory of being aware that I was happy took place in the summer. In my mind, Heaven is a place where it is always summer, and in that Other Place it is always the coldest and dreariest of winters. I am happiest in the warm sunshine of summer. I thank God for each day that I don't need to contend with snow or ice or sleet or freezing rain.

Sometimes during the winter people who don't know me well will tell me during a horrible cold spell "you'll be wishing for days like this in July or August", and I just laugh and say "ask anyone in this room who knows me; I never miss winter or wish it could be cold out!"

In the summer all I have to do to leave the house is to ...leave the house. I don't have to shovel my way to the car, I don't need to remove ice or snow from the car, I don't need to throw sand or salt outside to keep me from slipping or falling.

I don't know how I ended up in southern CT. At least it's "southern" CT. My relatives in the northwestern part of the state suffer through even worse winters.

You have convinced me not to move to CT, Deb! I hope you have a nice long summer this year.

Elaine Viets

Love this! Always enjoy a glimpse into the Femmes lives.

Gotta say I'm not a fan of the middle of summer or winter. I don't like extreme temperatures. But spring is wonderful and fall here in the Pittsburgh area/southwestern PA is gorgeous.

We're enjoying a nice break from high temps and high humidity now. It's actually nice to sit outside in the evening.
