Here at the Femmes Fatales we're no different from the rest of the country--we're having a hard time keeping our minds off what's happening in Houston, and an equally hard time finding anything to say about it. Dean James, one of our Femmes Fatales members, used to live in Houston and work at Murder by the Book, and Julie Wray Herman, a Femme emerita, still lives there. Julie and her family are fine; and Dean is very proud that Murder by the Book was one of the indie bookstores that opened its doors to people who could use coffee, wifi, AC, and a charge for their devices. More on that here.
Meanwhile, if you're wondering what you can possibly do to help, the Washington Post published a great article on just that--thanks to Kelli Stanley who brought the link to our attention.
