Mary S.

Charlaine, the NYT news is so huge, it's hard to comprehend! And having your youngest graduating, well, that's pretty darned huge too. Serious transition time. Congratulations on both!

Major congrats, Charlaine, for both milestones. You might be struggling with transitions, but I admire the balance you've brought to your work and your family.

Graduation. Commencement. There's a reason it has two names.

And when you type "The End" at the end of a manuscript, isn't it really the beginning?

But I gotta say: Number one on the NYT bestseller list? No two ways about that one. You did it, friend. It brings me tears of happiness. You are an inspiration.

And your dear daughter thinks, so, too.

But she doesn't use so many commas.

Congratulations on th e NYT rating. It truly is a career changing event I'm sure. But when it's all said and done, the successful young woman you've raised is the greater tribute to you as a person.

Many, many congratulations, Charlaine, on the NYT Number 1 ranking! I remember meeting you at SEBA in 2005 and how charming and friendly you were and I have enjoyed watching your career going from strength to strength. No one deserves this more!

And congratulations to the graduate as well!

Elaine Viets

Congratulations on both milestones, Charlaine. But we already knew you were No. 1 and not just in New York.

Dana Cameron

Congratulations, Charlaine, on your well-deserved success and achievements! NYT #1--woohooo! And best wishes to Julia as she commences on this new stage of her journey.

Charlaine Harris

Okay, friends, I'm basking, I'm basking. Caryn was right; Julia is more important. I appreciate all of your kind words and thoughts. I am a lucky woman.

A bunch of other writers are blogging (very nicely) about Charlaine and her successes over on RidingwiththetopDown.blogspot today - if you're in the mood for a little pick-me-up, you ought to go cruise over there. :) Post a hello! Surprise them all.
