Thanks for this post! Must admit, I have often wondered some of those things. I've read all the Sookie Stackhouse novels and the Aurora Teagarden series, too. You're SUCH a great storyteller. Very glad to hear that you're happy--your books make a lot of readers happy, so it's only fair! :)

I would imagine that you get asked those same questions every time you leave your front door. It must feel like the show hijacked your life and your writing.

I, personally, love both for very different reasons and am glad both the books and the show exist.

I like your Harper and Tolliver series, too, Charlaine. I understand that's also going to be a TV series.

Then bless you! I have time to see how you write articles. http://www.buy-rift-gold.com rift gold

I love the books, and enjoy the tv series. But when I'm watching it - in decent privacy - on my laptop - volume low - daughter always sneaks up "what you watchin'?" "Tru Blood" "DAD!! MOM'S WATCHING THAT VAMPIRE PORN AGAIN"
the things we put up with.

Charlaine Harris

Elaine, the CBS deal for the Harper books seems to be in a coma. I'm sorry about that, but not downcast. Victoria, I like the books and the show, too; and sandrad, sometimes I'm pretty astonished by "True Blood" scenery. There's such a gap between what's on the page and the visual experience. Ink, there's a reason these questions are asked a lot; people just want to know.

Sheila Connolly

Hurray--a happy writer! Thank you for sharing that.

While nursing a broken ankle, I've been reading great chunks of the Sookie Stackhouse series back to back (I think I'm up to #8). Of all the series casting, I think they nailed Sookie and Eric.

Lindsay Weber

I am glad that you are happy with the series on HBO. I appreciate the fact that I get to enjoy two different stories, your books are so awesome and the series on TV is somewhat different that it splits up the year, so while I am waiting for the next Sookie novel. I get to see the next season of True Blood. I am truly happy for your success and love your work!

Oh, my goodness...such a treat to read. And you saying you're happy brings tears to my eyes.

NICE HIT in the New York Times Book Review today, my dear!!! So lovley...xoxoxo

Charlaine Harris

Sheila, I hope your broken ankle heals nicely, and thanks for reading the books. Lindsay, I think getting to enjoy two different versions of the same material is the best collaboration EVER. Thanks, Hank, this book has been performing very well.
