Love both your stories, Donna. Especially your father in the pine tree.
I miss Christmas at my grandparents' house. Grandma made gingerbread cookies for the tree and fixed a real feast. Grandpa would smoke cigars and listen to us talk about our favorite gifts in excruciating detail. They really enjoyed their family, and we enjoyed being with them.

Oh, your poor Dad! Jimmy promising not to tell - this scene would've fit perfectly into The Christmas Story movie with Darren McGavin up a tree. :)

Fantastic stories! xoxoo I do think you have a real movie possibility with the up-a-tree event..have you contacted the Hallmark channel?
