Susan Neace

The short lived # 1 Ladies Detective Agency is really good but the only series I ever bought myself is Babylon 5

Alan P.

I can get into a West Wing tare. Princess One loves it, although she has seen Charlie get a knife for Thanksgiving many, many times.

The girls got me hooked on NCIS. Evil children. It is a terrible procedural, but fun after dinner.

Does re-watching the complete James Bond in order count?

Alan P.

The women in my house are binging: Friends (holds up pretty well. WAY better than Seinfeld), Grey's Anatomy, Riverdale (getting weird), Andie Mack (spoiler alert, Grandpa won't make it to the end of season 3), and Dear White People.

Karen Maslowski

Some fun adds to my own list here. Thanks, Elaine.

I recently finished the entire 20 seasons of Midsomer Murders. And I binge-watched Season 5 of Grace & Frankie in two evenings. So funny. Shetland is really good, and so is Vera.

Another fun British series was The Indian Doctor, about an Indian man who takes his wife to a Welsh mining village to serve as the local doctor. It's a fish out of water story, and hilarious.

Elaine Viets

Thanks for the suggestions, Karen. I love British TV, and I'm a real fan of Vera.

Elaine Viets

James Bond is definitely bingeworthy, Alan. Watching West Wing now is too sad, but NCIS is a terrible trap. Every time I watch it, I pick apart the procedure, but I can't stop myself from watching it.

Elaine Viets

I need to check out Babylon 5, Susan.

I don’t tend to binge watch too much. I space things out or I get tired of a show. Usually 3 or 4 episodes are my limit.

Some favorite shows are Babylon 5, Chuck, Monk, and White Collar.

Madam Secretary and Designated Survivor have inherited the beady attention I used to give The West Wing. Funny how much more I enjoy *fictional* American politics!

Susan, I see we both recommended Babylon 5. Fantastic show, isn’t it?

Elaine Viets

White Collar! Mozzie was the real star of that show.

Elaine Viets

I'm with you, Catriona. "Real" American politics are far scarier than the fiction version.

Elaine Viets

That's it -- now I really have to see Babylon 5. Thanks, Mark.

Storyteller Mary

I watched all the new Grace and Frankie season in one day -- odd final episode there -- and I heard there is to be some new Miss Fisher Mysteries. Huzzah!
My niece introduced me to THE GOOD PLACE, which I'll probably not binge, but do intend to watch, along with revisiting DESIGNING WOMEN, because I need Julia's spunk in my world. I can't over-watch because there are SO MANY BOOKS, and they won't read themselves. <3

Some good ideas here, Elaine. We've been binge watching EVERWOOD and WAREHOUSE 13.

Marcia Talley

I binge-watched Longmire. Also Orphan Black. Now that my novel's been turned in, I plan to catch up on Vera.

Elaine Viets

I've never seen either of these, Kris, but Warehouse 13 sounds good.

Elaine Viets

More good suggestions, Mary.

elaine viets

Vera, yes! A good binge-watch and binge-read.

Aimee Hix

I'm all caught up on Murdoch and Midsomer Murders.

My husband and I are binging Inspector Lewis and Warehouse 13 (re-watching).

I'm about to binge season 5 of Grace and Frankie ... and by about to, I mean when I'm not doing one of the eight million things on my to-do list. :)

Karen Maslowski

Oh, one more, Elaine. Have you seen Godless? If not, it's a must. A little bloody, but fabulous, and with an amazing cast.

Elaine Viets

Another vote for Warehouse 13. Thanks, Aimee.

Elaine Viets

Definitely looks promising, Karen. I see it's won a slew of awards.

Midsomer Murders is my go-to binge watch. Hinterlands is another but I've watched all the seasons that are available so I'm sad.

elaine viets

Agreed, Alexia. Midsommer Murders are a good binge.

I do need to warn you that the first season of Babylon 5 is a little slow to get going, so you need to give it several episodes for the story to begin to build. The effects are dated (season one was 1993). Stick with it. It truly is worth it.

Cath H.

Thanks for your list as well as others that I haven't seen or only 1 season. I'm binge watching: Call the Midwife, Downton Abbey and Covert Affairs (didn't know about it until looking at Amazon Prime series and movies). I have binge watched Grey's Anatomy. I also binge watched all of the Harry Potter movies, lol!

Cath H

I forgot about a couple of BBC spy series including Spooks (MI-5) and Berlin Station.

Elaine Viets

Thanks for the warning, Mark.

Elaine Viets

Definitely Harry Potter, Cath. Now I have to try Spooks. Thanks for stopping by.

LynDee Walker

Back in October when it first got chilly out, my daughter and I watched Netflix's new Haunting of Hill House in two days. Loved it. And we love when new episodes of our favorite shows drop: waiting for season three of Stranger Things this summer. On a regular basis, Friends and Gilmore Girls are often playing on our TVs—we've seen both series so many times we speak in Friends-and-Gilmore-isms, and it's nice to have the occasional favorite scene come on in the middle of our busiest time of year.

Elaine Viets

I loved the novel, "Hill House," LynDee, and the movie. The series sounds interesting.
